Psychology
Individual clients have a comprehensive initial consultation followed by a series of subsequent consultations, depending on the client’s needs. Initial consultations typically last one hour and involve understanding the client’s relevant history, current situation, and goals for therapy through an interview with the psychologist (this may or may not be accompanied by a an online questionnaire). Subsequent consultations typically last 50 minutes and are done in a personalised, systematic, and flexible way agreed upon by the client and their psychologist.

- Initial Consultation: $290.00 – 1 hour interview, and 30 minute comprehensive online Psychological Profile for Weight Management.
- Subsequent Consultation: $265.00 – 50 minute session within business hours (9am-5pm)
- Subsequent Consultation: $280.00 – 50 minute session outside hours
Emma Furner:
- Initial Consultation: $260.00 – 1 hour interview, and 30 minute comprehensive online Psychological Profile for Weight Management.
- Subsequent Consultation: $230.00 – 50 minute session within business hours (9am-5pm)
- Subsequent Consultation: $240.00 – 50 minute session outside hours
Shauna Spencer:
- Initial Consultation: $260.00 – 1 hour interview, and 30 minute comprehensive online Psychological Profile for Weight Management.
- Subsequent Consultation: $230.00 – 50 minute session within business hours (9am-5pm)
- Subsequent Consultation: $240.00 – 50 minute session outside hours
Nelson Laconi:
- Initial Consultation: $240.00 – 1 hour interview, and 30 minute comprehensive online Psychological Profile for Weight Management.
- Subsequent Consultation: $225.00 – 50 minute session within business hours (9am-5pm)
- Subsequent Consultation: $235.00 – 50 minute session outside hours
Gracyn Bower:
- Initial Consultation: $240.00 – 1 hour interview, and 30 minute comprehensive online Psychological Profile for Weight Management.
- Subsequent Consultation: $225.00 – 50 minute session within business hours (9am-5pm)
- Subsequent Consultation: $235.00 – 50 minute session outside hours
Lynette Armstrong:
- Initial Consultation: $240.00 – 1 hour interview, and 30 minute comprehensive online Psychological Profile for Weight Management.
- Subsequent Consultation: $225.00 – 50 minute session within business hours (9am-5pm)
- Subsequent Consultation: $235.00 – 50 minute session outside hours
*Note these are less than the APS recommended fee of $300.00.
Payment & Cancellations:
Payment is to be made the day of consultation and can be made by cash or EFTPOS (including credit card).
To value your time, our time, and the importance of appointments to all our clients, cancellation fees will occur. At least 24 hours prior notice to cancellation is required for no fee to be charged. This notice is to be given in business hours by calling +61 7 3358 3312 only. If notice is given within 24 hours of the consultation, 50% of the consultation fee will be charged, payable on the day. If notice is given within 3 hours of the consultation or you do not arrive for your appointment, 100% of the fee will be charged. Weight Management Psychology requires credit card details to be provided.
Information on Rebates:
Private Health Insurance Rebates
Psychological services, depending on your health fund and level of cover, often receive a rebate form Private Health Insurance Providers. Please check with your health insurance provider for information on private health insurance rebates.
Better Access To Mental Health Care
For people who meet the criteria for a Mental Health Care Plan under the Better Access to Mental Health Care scheme, every session will receive a Medicare rebate of at least $92.90 for up to 10 sessions per calendar year. This requires a referral from your General Practitioner or Psychiatrist (if applicable). Your General Practitioner, Psychiatrist or Weight Management Psychology Psychologist can help you determine your eligibility for this scheme. You may come to the initial consultation with a referral or your Weight Management Psychology Psychologist can advise you of your eligibility in the initial consultation, and ask you to get a Doctor’s referral to receive the rebate for subsequent sessions.
